Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award Recipient Announced

Film Mayo is delighted to announce the recipient of the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award.

Lorcan Hynes is the recipient of the Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award in partnership with Áras Inis Gluaire, Belmullet.

Over the past five years Hynes has worked as a professional filmmaker, gaining extensive production experience and establishing himself as a successful commercial director.

Previous awards include the Kinsale Shark Direction in film craft; the ICAD, YDA best young Irish Director, 2017 & 2018 Shortlist; Volkswagen “70” & Ford UCC Quercus and the Ford UCC Quercus - Kinsale Sharks 2018 Shortlist

The Film Mayo Creative Ireland Award of €8000 will benefit Hynes in his own practice and will allow him the time to develop new work, dedicate time to research and to work with the local community.  

This award is supported by the Creative Ireland Programme in response to the Creative and Cultural Jobs Stimulus Measure Funding 2020.
