First Cut! Youth Film Festival 2017 seeks submissions by 28th Feb
First Cut! Youth Film Festival 2017 is back in April, 27-29, to celebrate it’s 8th year! They set out to support young aspiring filmmakers, from Cork, all over Ireland and abroad and provide an opportunity to screen their films and bring them together in a great festival atmosphere to network and learn from each other and from professionals.
First Cut! is currently accepting submissions from all over Ireland and abroad. They are also running the incredibly successful YMVC Competition for the second year, teaming up with Feel Good Lost to shine a light on the Music Video scene and give young filmmakers an amazing opportunity to be mentored by these professional filmmakers.

Once more, with amazing support from the Arts Council, Cork County Council and Cork Film Centre, the First Cut! team are busily working hard to create another great festival programme for all kinds of young aspiring filmmakers, families and friends. It’s all FREE!
Though the event runs for only three days over 100 shorts will be screened across a wide range of genres, and numerous panel discussions on all the intricacies involved in creating a short film, as well as give its audience the opportunity to participate in some interesting Director Q&As and post-screening discussions. We are also working on some special guests for this year and will be announcing the full programme at the end of March..http://www.firstcutfilmfestival.com.
Their aim is to create an inspiring festival with some inspiring people!
Deadlines for the Open Call and the YMVC Competition are 28th Feb.
