Kevin Henry (The Last Confession) a Mayo native is currently filming his debut feature Soulsmith in Castlebar during the months of April and May. A graduate of DIT’s School of Media, Kevin has spent the last year along with Producer Séamus Waters (Capturing Our Capital, Sur la Pointe) developing the script. The film follows the story of Ed Smith a young playwright returning home to his native Mayo after the passing of his Father.

Applications are invited from film artists of distinction for the above role, jointly funded by the Arts Council and University College Cork, in association with the Cork Film Festival.
The Film Artist in Residence is designed to provide a screenwriter with a unique opportunity to develop his/ her practice in a university environment while offering students the opportunity to engage with a practising artist in a meaningful way during the course of their studies.

Pilgrimage are looking for men to be part of their norman army shooting from Tuesday April 28th to Friday May 1st. They are also looking for servants, archers, knights, cooks and sentries. You may get 1 day or 4 days depending on the schedule but they have big extra numbers so most people should get a few days. Filming location would be in the Cong/Clonbur area. Rate of pay would be 80 euro to include fitting fee. Fittings will take place next Wednesday Thursday and Friday in a location tbc in Mayo.
