Silent Moves - IGNITE exhibition and film launch Fri 6th Feb - Ballina
Silent Moves, Mayo IGNITE exhibition and film by Aideen Barry, Western Care's Ridgepool Training Centre and Scannan Technologies will officially be openend by Aiden Barry at Ballina Arts Centre, Co. Mayo on Friday 6th February at 7.30pm. The Silent Moves film will be screened regularly during February with the Silent Moves exhibiton running until 28th February. Admission Free, all welcome. Silent Moves is commissioned by Mayo County Council as part of IGNITE.

AFTER '16: IFB announces short film initiative to commemorate 1916
Bord Scannán na hÉireann/the Irish Film Board (IFB) is delighted to announce AFTER '16 a once-off initiative to fund up to 8 short films commemorating, celebrating and ruminating on 1916 and how the events of Easter Sunday and beyond forged the landscape of the following century.
The IFB would like to invite filmmakers to give their response to 1916 and the hundred years since. We are looking for stories, both fact and fiction, which illuminate, surprise and even provoke on the wide subject of 1916 and what is has left in its wake.

Film Mayo were delighted to have internationally renowned Film Director Pat O’Connor as their special guest for the launch of Film Mayo, which took place before Christmas. Pat has a very special relationship with Mayo since filming The Ballroom of Romance (RTÉ and BBC co-production based on the novel by William Trevor). in Ballycroy in the early 80’s.
